How to Play

Play Golf Stick online for free. Golf Stick is a fun online endless golfing game where players must hit as many golf balls as they can into a hole. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

  • Starting the Game
    • Tap or click the start button on the opening screen to begin the game.
    • There will be a countdown afterward and a how-to-play instructions before you start playing. Get ready.
      • Clicking on the Twitter icon on the main menu shares your game’s best score on Twitter.
      • Game Controls
        • Use the controls to apply the right swing strength on your ball as accurately as possible.
        • Mouse and Keyboard
          • Click and hold on to the left mouse button to gain swing strength.
            • There is a power bar shown at the left side of the screen. The higher it loads, the higher and farther your ball will go. A lower bar results in less forceful swings ideal for nearer holes.
            • Once you’ve determined your swing strength, release the button to swing the golf club. Wait and see if your ball makes it to the hole.
            • When using the mouse, even a low power bar can result in a powerful swing compared to using touchscreen. Be mindful of this distinction to avoid overshooting your holes.
            • With keyboard, you can control the ball before you try to swing the golf club. Controlling the distance of the ball and the player affects the strength of the swing. If the ball is near the player, swing has more strength.
              • If the ball is further away from the player, the swing has less strength.
              • Clicking up or having it touch the wall of the screen will make the ball out of bounds and will deduct you 1 life.
                • With keyboard, you could also control the ball mid flight.
                • Click left or right directional button to steer the ball. You can’t control the rise and fall of the ball though.
                • Cheat on Keyboard
                  • To avoid losing a ball on a hard turn, press the right directional arrow key on your keyboard.
                  • Move the ball far away from your original position. Avoid clicking the mouse so as not to release the ball.
                  • From here, you can press the directional keys to manually place the ball inside the hole to gain a point.
                    • While you can do this move to gain extra points, it’s no fun without any real challenge.
                    • Touchscreen
                      • Tap and hold your finger on the screen to gain swing strength. Release your finger to swing the golf club and hit the ball.
                      • To gauge swing strength, refer to the the power bar on the left side of the screen.
                        • A high power bar will send your ball farther and higher, while a lower power bar has less force and does not land far away from your location.
                        • On touchscreen, be sure to fill the power bar higher so your ball reaches the hole. Unlike in desktop PC using a mouse, you’ll need a higher power bar to reach holes.
                        • Game User Interface
                          • The vertical power bar or swing strength indicator is located on the left most part of the game screen.
                            • The swing indicator doesn’t go back down. It’s best to control it and shoot as early as you are ready.
                            • The lives or tries counter is located on the top left part of the game. This is on the right side of the power bar.
                              • Every game you’ll get 10 balls equivalent to 10 lives.
                              • You will have less 1 life every time you fail to shoot the ball into the hole.
                              • The Current Score and Best Score are shown at the bottom of the game.
                                • The Current Score increases every time you successfully earn a point.
                                • The Best Score will increase once you’ve beaten the old record.
                                • Strategy
                                  • Your goal is to shoot as many balls into the hole as possible. Take time to estimate how far or near your golf shot will reach.
                                  • It’s normal to under swing or overshoot a ball on your first couple of turns. But once you get the hang of it, you’ll have a better idea of how hard or soft you must hit the ball.
                                  • There is no pause button on the screen. But it’s easy to take a break in between hitting turns.
                                  • Try to swing with force as accurately as possible to make your ball reach the floating platform.
                                    • Targeting the platform to land the ball into is the best way to earn points. Even if the ball does not directly make the hole, it simply rolls forward into the hole. This is better than overshooting or missing the hole completely.
                                      • The platform gets smaller as your score increases. This makes the game more challenging.
                                        • Enjoy playing the game as long as you can. The game is infinite and can only end when you run out of balls. Once a game ends, you can reset the game and play all over again.
                                        • The longer you play the game, the more points you get. Have fun trying to beat your best score.
